Project Overview & Objectives
The finance department of the professional services division had recently implemented new financial systems and processes. The client asked Synaptitude to design, develop, and implement a business intelligence dashboard application, which would enable management to obtain insight into key operational performance metrics.
Our Involvement
Our consultants worked closely with finance department managers to develop business requirements for the business intelligence dashboard, specifying key performance indicators, management reports, required timings, and key data sources. Our team then worked with the client’s IT group to develop data feeds from the strategic system stack. These feeds were consolidated into a management dashboard tool developed by the Synaptitude team. The tool was implemented and distributed to managers and executives within the professional services finance department.
Results and Benefits
As a result, managers and executives within the finance department were able to obtain insight into the processes and operations of the department. This enabled the client to track current performance against both financial and operational performance targets. Managers used this real-time information to inform their processes for the continual improvement of finance departmental performance, resulting increased cash flow, reduced error rates, and improved financial controls.
