Case Study
Client
One of the world’s leading providers of communications solutions and services operating in 170 countries. Its principal activities include networked IT services, local, national and international telecommunications services, and higher-value broadband and internet products and services.
Project Overview & Objectives
The requested full-life cycle development of a custom Electronic Payment and Presentation solution to manage the commercial inventory management, invoice creation and dispute resolution for over 1 billion USD in telecom expenses between 50 countries worldwide.
Our Involvement
The client wished to develop an Electronic Bill Payment and Presentation (EBPP) application to present invoices to, resolve disputes with and accept payments from over 25 companies around the world. To ensure the application was effective, our consultants developed and organized a set of workshops and sessions to gather requirements from representatives of all 25 companies. Since we were dealing with many different cultures and languages, the Graphical Facilitation Method was determined to be the most appropriate during the initial workshops. As the participants began gaining an understanding of the business needs and processes across their different companies, we used the Focused Conversation Method to help broaden the participant’s perspectives and understanding. In the end, we had successfully obtained consensus from the group and were able to provide the client with a concise set of process and technical requirements for the EBPP application. This application was then successfully developed and implemented and is now being used by over 50 companies, including the original 25, around the world.
Results and Benefits
The resulting solution provided an initial recurring benefit in excess of 40M USD per year. Additional benefits in excess of 100M GBP per year are also expected.
