Project Overview & Objectives
The client’s global business management began a project consolidate local ordering and inventory information from affiliates around the world into a single data warehouse. This single global warehouse would be used to inform global purchasing decisions, drive global volume discounting from suppliers and improve the quality of financial comparison amongst individual country operations.
Our Involvement
The client asked Synaptitude to lead an effort in which Synaptitude would provide business leadership and project management, while a low-cost offshore team would be stationed in each local country for data gathering purposes. Synaptitude’s project team assumed operational control of the project. Our team worked closely with client managers and the offshore team to manage the overall project schedule, continually align project goals with the needs of individual country operations, and deliver business advisory services to supplement the offshore teams (e.g. regulatory, financial, accounting, and enterprise system knowledge). We continually managed work efforts to ensure that the offshore outsource teams were kept on-schedule and aligned with overall project goals.
Results and Benefits
As a result of Synaptitude’s efforts, client business managers were able to focus on managing business results, which they otherwise would have spent supervising offshore teams. Synaptitude ensured the performance of the offshore teams. This reduced the risk of implementation to the client, reduced client manager opportunity costs, and reduced overall implementation cost.
