Today’s Utilities must protect meter-to-cash performance or risk significant and avoidable revenue and margin loss with the associated increase in investor and customer complaints.

Protecting revenue in the old manner – merely reporting on credit and collections, energy fraud, and energy theft – is no longer adequate. Utility organizations lose 2% to 5% of their revenue from preventable operational losses. The cost of these billing errors causes businesses and customers to overpay or underpay for utilities services, leading to embarrassing headlines, regulatory fines and public utility commission scrutiny, and stakeholder mistrust.  Reducing revenue leakage is critical for regulatory compliance such as SOX and Public Utility Commission Codes.

This presentation will identify the three domains of revenue leakage, which operational controls must be in place to address this leakage, and how to implement these controls to achieve Revenue Assurance.
