Training Delivered at EUCI Conference

Introduction to Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) for Utilities

Attendees will receive an introduction to Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and obtain insight into building a business SOA roadmap. Furthermore, attendees will learn how SOA concepts are applied to integrating applications and data within the utility environment. Attend this course and learn why SOA is emerging as the premier integration and architecture framework in today’s complex environment.

  • Basic introduction to SOA beginning with the business roadmap
  • The different business information models: data, process (task & flows), rule, transformation, KPI

Introduction to Common Information Model (CIM) for Utilities

Attendees will receive an introduction to the Common Information Model (CIM) and obtain insight into creating a CIM profile. Furthermore, attendees will learn how CIM concepts are applied to integrating applications and data within the electric utility environment. Energy industry validation tools created for the CIM standards will be defined.

  • Basic introduction to the Common Information Model (CIM) including a technical overview of the CIM and an overview of CIM applications
  • How the CIM model is used to create a profile that meets the specific requirements of a given application need
  • How CIM concepts are applied to integrating applications and data within the electric utility environment
  • How all the features and functions of the “free” industry validation tools created for the CIM standards are defined
